Enjoy Boating in San Diego
The San Diego Sunroad Boat Show continues to expand year and after year and 2012 will be no exception. Hosted by the Sunroad Resort Marina, the 22-year annual tradition will be held January 26-29, 2012.
The 2012 Sunroad Boat Show will feature on-land and in-water exhibits, focusing on the latest boats and marine equipment. Its location on the water (the show relocated in 2010 from the SD Convention Center and Marriott Marina) puts the show on the spacious east end of beautiful Harbor Island in San Diego Bay, with free shuttle transports.
Free boat rides will be in operation throughout the day. Attendees will also be able to enjoy food, music, beer and spirits — making for a great day of entertainment on the beautiful bay.
One of the most exciting elements of the show is the usage of more marina space, providing more slips for dealers to showcase their boats and attendees even more boats to enjoy.
The in-water marina portion of the previous boat show has always been the most popular aspect of the annual event and the old location limited its ability to grow. Before, there was a huge demand for dealers that wanted space and could not get it.
Because of Sunroad Marina’s vast 610 slip spaces, the 2011 boat show boasted an expansive offering of boats from 8-feet to 90-feet, and the 2012 show looks to be even bigger, including new and used sail and power models for every budget.

Boating is big business. There are more than 17 million recreational boats owned in the United States and California is the second top boating state in the nation. Attendees flock to the annual San Diego show from much of the western United States, from places like Las Vegas, Arizona, Los Angeles, Orange County, the Inland Empire and beyond.
“This year promises to be even better than last year (which was a big success),” said Jim Behun, Show Director and General Manager of Sunroad Marina. “We are focusing on providing you exactly what you are looking for as a boater. We’ll have the brands and companies you’ve come to know and love, as well as new exhibitors and products. Come find your next boat or that perfect boating accessory at the 2012 San Diego Sunroad Boat Show!”
The San Diego Sunroad Boat Show in the Sunroad Resort Marina is located downtown at 955 Harbor Island in north San Diego Bay, across the street from the San Diego International Airport.
Free shuttles will be available from the boat show parking lots, which are adjacent to the Sheraton Harbor Island across from San Diego International Airport.
