China Crackdown on Time Travel

That pesky time-travel, always changing things. Chinese authorities are discouraging the use of time travel in popular entertainment, saying it “disrespects history.” According to an official statement released in April, the warning applies to films or television programs that contain “fantasy, time-travel, random compilations of mythical stories, bizarre plots, feudal superstitions, fatalism and reincarnation.” Li Jingsheng, a State Administration of Radio, Film and Television representative, defends the decision, saying, “Many stories are totally made up… and are treating serious history in a frivolous way.” He concluded that production studios should avoid releasing “incorrect” content.
