The European Union’s toy safety directive has deemed whistle blowers unsafe for children under 14, and insisted that unsupervised children under the age of eight not blow up balloons.
Despite their popularity, these basically harmless party favors – along with fishing games - are to be banned because their small parts or chemicals used in making them are decreed to be too risky. The EU directive will also force manufacturers and retailers to attach safety warnings to toys.
