The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority announced that starting this June San Diego’s Lindberg Field will have an Air Canada nonstop flight to Toronto, Canada. Passengers wishing to fly between Toronto and San Diego will have a new, welcome travel option.
In addition, Toronto is a major hub for connecting flights to the rest of Canada and Europe. Air Canada plans to time the flights for good connections to Air Canada’s extensive international network. Air Canada plans to have a daily, year-round flight to Toronto.
This is certainly a step in the right direction, but San Diego needs more International connections to Europe. For several years, British Airways operated a nonstop flight between San Diego and London which really cut the time for International flights; for a short time Canada-based Zoom Airlines operated this route.
